Hey there, I was having the similar issues and found that repairing/resetting permissions seemed to have fixed it.
BUT, it is not easy to reset/repair permissions in Mojave, since apple took that option away from us users.
Launch terminal and use this line:
diskutil resetUserPermissions / `id -u`
