'Surplus' XMP files?
« on: March 10, 2019, 01:22:25 PM »
I am in the process of culling a load of duplicate images and having a general tidy up of three HDD prior to making the move from Windows to Mac later in the year. Using PM 5 (latest update) has been far faster and easier than with any other software I know of so thank you to the good folks at Camera Bits for a great product, looking forward to PM6 on 25th of the month :)

I am just fininishing a last drive and have left over a large number of XMP files which are extremely difficult to read using something like word pad or Word etc. I have been moving RAW files (Nikon NEF) about into new more sensible directories and as far as I can see the NEF file and the XMP file moves OK. However, I still have a large number of orphan files which I am a bit reluctant to just zap with delete button. Is there any easy way to either read these or manipulate them in deciding which to delete?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

You can load them into the IPTC Stationery Pad and view them if you want.

There is a button labeled "Load..." at the bottom of the IPTC Stationery Pad.  You can also load them in the IPTC Info window as well.
