PhotoMecanic Culling with a MIDI Controller
« on: February 06, 2019, 05:06:52 PM »
Hi, I've been trying to search and just can't find anything.

For LightRoom, I'm currently using the PusherLabs PFixer application with the MiniMal MIDI controller (it's a Behringer X Touch Mini). I'm trying to find a way to get this combination to work with PhotoMechanic. I've seen users use a gaming controller for culling in PhotoMechanic, but I would really love to us my MIDI controller.

Does anyone have any experience doing this at all?

I used to do this with a game controller. Basically you had to remap the keys to the standard keys that PM uses (0-9). I was also able to write macros for some of the more common code replacement codes like /d/ for inserting dates or /atc/ for after the catch.

I use a PS3 controller for this and it’s a game changer.

You can also look into what's called the Cullinator. It's essentially a game control that you can cull your images in LR and PM.

hope that helps!
