Custom Dictionary again
« on: April 04, 2007, 02:28:44 PM »

Dear Sir

I created my own dicitionary using "UserDictionary.dic" file, so
put 159009 lines, with Brazilian Portuguese words inside, size 1.77MB

When I open PM and I try to use right button of my mouse after select text in Itpc Info, PM
doesn't respond

Is there some limitation to add lines in the UserDicitionary.dic file?  ???

The UserDictionary.dic is in to the my folder
"C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Camera Bits, Inc\Photo Mechanic"

Thank very much

Photo Mechanic version 4.4.3.3

Windows XP

Pentium 4 3.2GHz

1GB Ram

Do you have spell checking turned on?  If so, I'd need your dictionary file to test with.  Contact me privately for an email address to where you can send your file.

The word has to be flagged as misspelled before you'll get a contextual menu.  Make sure you have enabled "Spell check text fields using ___ dictionary" in the IPTC/XMP tab of the Preferences dialog.

Is "Administrator" the name of your user account?  Mine isn't.  So my path is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Kirk Baker\Application Data\Camera Bits, Inc\Photo Mechanic

The path is vitally important to the use of the UserDictionary.dic file.  If it is not found then it will not be used.

I tested with your sample dictionary and misspelled "abadias" as "abadiaso" (I just added 'o' onto the end) and the word was flagged as misspelled once I typed the space bar to start the next word.  I right-clicked on the flagged word and found "abadias" near the top of the suggested corrections.  I chose "abadias" and it was corrected and was no longer considered misspelled.

I tested this on the PM 4.5 version.

HTH,

-Kirk
