Editing the built-in dictionary

Is there a way to edit the built-in dictionary? Specifically is there a way to DELETE words from the builtin dictionary?

Eric,
PM uses the spell checking facilities provided by the Operating system you are running in.
If you do a google search (such as "edit mac spell check dictionary"), you will find various links that describe how to update the dictionary.
