Drag and Drop into Filters
« on: April 28, 2019, 05:15:50 AM »
Feature Request:

In PM 5 & 6 one can drag & drop images from a Contact Sheet into a different folder in Navigator. In PM Plus, if possible, I would like to be able to drag & drop images from a contact sheet onto Organizer's Filter > Color Class, Rating, Label or Tagged designation. And, if possible, even into IPTC's > Event, Keywords, Location, etc. It would be a huge time saver IMHO.

Many thanks,
Warren

In another thread Kirk explained why it will be unlikely that PM will support drag and drop to assign metadata. It's simply too easy to make mistakes this way (e.g. drop on the wrong target). These mistakes are then also quite unclear to understand/recover.

Furthermore in the examples given, there already is a MUCH faster way: a keyboard shortcut.

There are actually some technical limitations as well, but yes, drag and drop is problematic.  We would much rather offer a keyboard shortcut or contextual menu to achieve the same thing.
