PM6 come to halt when change app focus to other app
« on: May 30, 2019, 07:22:48 AM »
Hi,
Just noticed that PM6 will halt (for a while) when you have lighttable view with some hundred files and then access to some other app (so that PM will loose focus)
It will take some time (minutes) after you return to PM after you can start to work again (at system monitor PM status is : Not responding)

What OS are you running?  Where are the images stored that you're browsing?

Mac OS 10.14.5
Images are stored either at local disk (SSD) or external thunderbolt 3 drive

What sorting method are you using?

I'd like to see your Photo Mechanic log.  In Photo Mechanic go to the Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data..." and moments later a Finder window will come forward with the zipped log file selected.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped PM log file.

Thanks,

-Kirk

I am using Capture Time as sort base

What kind of drive is QFotos?  What is the disk formatted as?

If you try sorting by "Filename" does the performance still suffer?  (I'm suggesting this for informational purposes, not as a solution.)

Thanks,

-Kirk

I managed to mitigate problem by limiting open files/folders at the light table.
I had whole year files open at once, now I only open one project.
Depth of open directories is now only 2 levels (before it was 5 with multiple branches)  also files at once at light table is much less now.
