Are alias files on a Mac supported?
« on: April 12, 2007, 06:31:01 AM »
I have a folder with JPEGs, text files, and aliases to JPEGs that are elsewhere on the disk.  (The aliases were created in the finder by dragging the JPEG into the folder while holding down command and option).

The JPEGs always show up in the contact sheet.

The .txt files only show up if I select View->Unknown files as proxies.

The Aliases to JPEGs never show up.

Is this how it is supposed to work?  Is there a way to convince Photo Mechanic to honor the alias and open the original file?

-Thanks

No.  We do not support aliases.

Are there any plans to add alias support to a future release?

No, not at this time.
