This is the eleventh update to the Photo Mechanic Plus beta. This beta is open to all Photo Mechanic 6 users. We would appreciate you trying the beta of Photo Mechanic Plus and giving us your feedback and relay any bugs that you find to us. Two new message boards have been created to discuss the beta. REQUIRED AFTER INSTALLATION : Optimizations were made to this Beta release requiring
users to re-index existing catalogs . Search results will be inaccurate until the re-indexing
operation is completed. To re-index a catalog, please follow instructions in the Catalog
Maintenance section at the end of this document.
macOS:
● Fixed: Preview image position shift when enabling zoom.
● Fixed: Preview window in either 2-up mode with Thumbnail gallery and Info panel hidden, is not updating the active Preview image.
● Fixed: ExFAT drives do not display correct name of new folder after collapsing and re-expanding parent folder.
● Fixed: Item remains in contact sheet after dragging from contact sheet to another folder until manual rescan.
● Added: On macOS Catalina, Disc Burning is not working correctly and an exception handler has been put in place to keep Photo Mechanic from crashing. If Apple fixes the Disc Burning features of macOS Catalina then this feature should start working again.
Windows:
● Fixed: Added error handling for the Send Photos via Email feature (SMTP).
Both:
● Fixed: Inconsistent sorting/filtering.
● Fixed: Failure to render thumbnail in Contact Sheet on incomplete file.
● Fixed: "Move" feature of Copy/Move deleting metadata in XMP sidecar files.
● Fixed: Lack of right-anchor in query system produces incorrect Organizer search results.
● Fixed: Hierarchical keywords treated incorrectly for fields other than "keywords". Only the Keywords tree should appear hierarchical.
● Added: Renaming and Deleting files in catalog now also occurs in the proxy database.
● Added: IPTC copyright added to tree and as default search criteria.
● Added: HEIF/HEIC support, cross-platform, preliminary. These images are treated as read-only for now but users can view them and save them in different formats if desired.
● Added "Custom Search" option to Catalog Filter interface. Any search query possible from Quick Search (e.g. "filesize > 1000000", "capturetime between 2 weeks ago and 1 day ago") can now constrain results in a filter stage.
