Updates/bug fixes vs. Upgrades cost and availability
« on: December 13, 2019, 07:42:11 AM »
Hello.  I was wondering what Camera Bits' policy is on bug fixes vs. product upgrades (ie new features)?  Are there separate no-cost bug fix releases or do you have to buy a new upgraded version to get the fixes?  The purchase page discussing going from 5 to 6 is a little vague on the subject.

Also, is there a set policy on whether to charge any, full or partial price for upgrades when only a very short time has passed after purchase?

Thank you.

New builds of PM6 are free to anyone who has a license capable of running PM6.  So if you buy PM6 and we release updates to it, you'll always get them for free.

We have no policy yet in place for PM7, but historically we have been considerate and generous when it comes to providing a grace period.

...but historically we have been considerate and generous...

This is an understatement for sure, lots of generous updates over the years.
