I already learned that PM6 cannot show videos (just an image preview), but it would be extremely easy to just make it launch an external video viewer using some key. That would be very useful - or is it already possible? I'd be fine being able to view the video in VLC without having to navigate to the same folder in explorer...

Oh, just saw that "Edit Photo" does exactly that...

Also note you can configure multiple external editors/views in the Preferences > Launching pane. If you go to  "Assign specific editing applications for each filetype" you can tweak how this works for various video files.
