Adding videos to catalog
« on: February 12, 2020, 12:12:33 AM »
I am using Scan to Catalogs on a folder containing JPG and MP4 files, (the MP4 files have a combined XMP containing all Meta data).
Only the JPGs are added to the catalog.  The MP4 and XMP files are bypassed although the File Extensions to Exclude field is blank.
How do I add my videos to the catalog?

Thanks
Warren

Might be a bug.  What OS are you running on your system?

Have you installed the GStreamer package?

Kirk,

Yes my Preferences shows "Location of GStreamer intall:" as  C:\gstreamer
Plus I get a thumbnail of the video in both the context sheet and the Preview sheet.

Warren,

Could you please provide me a small sample movie along with its XMP sidecar file?

Thanks,

Thank you, Warren.

I'm able to reproduce the problem.

As a workaround, you can browse the folder containing the videos, select them, right click and choose "Include in Catalog" and they will be added.

I'll look into the issue where Scan to Catalog fails to include videos.
