File Renaming- Substrings?
« on: April 16, 2007, 05:54:07 AM »
Just downloaded 4.5 for Mac. Looks great, am especially impressed to now be able to add Adobe PS' star ranking system.

If I understand correctly I also see that a subset of files in a folder can now be partially renamed in a batch name change such that the name and the serial # of a file can be renamed independently or not at all with something called substrings. (e.g. "filename 123" can be renamed "otherfilename 123",  "filename 456", or "yetanotherfilename 789").

Is my understanding correct?

If yes, how does one about managing such name changes?

Thanks,
Louis Helbig

For the first one, you would do the following:

other{filenamebase}

For the second one, you would do the following:

yetanother{filenamebase}

Or am I missing what you're after?
