Use PM to crop and pick from Lightroom files

Can I open existing LR files for cropping and picking, then save those settings back into LR?  Possibly using the Read Metadata from Files command in LR?

Yes.  Be sure to make Lightroom update the metadata in the files before you edit with Photo Mechanic and then once you've made your edits and you return to Lightroom, use the Read Metadata from Files command to get Lightroom to update its database.
