Quickly Scan folders for new / updated files i.e. "Auto Update"

Am I missing this - I cannot find a "quick" way to do this ? is there a way so set say a "watch" folder for the root of the project I'm working on so as I go through my workflow PM+ sit's in the bg watching for changes and updating when necessary so I don't have to force a manual update ?

There is no "watch from the background" feature.

So Kirk what would you suggest as the most efficient way to quickly update a group of folders/images that I am currently working on/in and want to keep updated ?

Catalog Sync, in "Full" sync mode.
