captioning raw images in a Lightroom catalog
« on: May 03, 2021, 05:52:01 PM »
Is it possible for Photo Mechanic to caption raw images that are already in a Lightroom catalog?  I want to use the code replacement features of Photo Mechanic on legacy images that I have in Lightroom already.
In Photo Mechanic, can I caption them, and then get Lightroom to see those captions?

Yes, you can do this.

Before you edit outside of Lightroom, be sure to use the "Save Metadata to Files" command on the Metadata menu on the selection of files you're going to edit.

When you're done with your work in Photo Mechanic, return to Lightroom and select the changed photos and use the "Read Metadata from Files" command on the Metadata menu.

That should do it.
