A better visible, larger tagging marker (mockup here)

Could the tagging marker be larger and more visible (in both preview and thumbnail views)? For example, a light green square (or dot, or tick)?
It hasn't changed for years; it's almost microscopic in size and, for example, very difficult to see on a 4K screen. Furthermore, even when a photo isn't tagged, there's an empty, light square, which is very misleading because it looks almost identical to a tagged photo (the tagged photo differs only by a thin "tick" in the center of this tiny square).

It of course needs a redesign.

I also would like some customisability here.

So we can change the size of buttions etc. Especially important for automating different things.

What if it was some tag mark other the thumbnail? Say a corner of selected color

I'd like to see some options like changing the background color of an image to match the selected Color Class; or changing the background color if it is tagged or some other large indicator.

While we're at it, I'd love a way to make the presence of an audio note more noticeable as well.

Good idea too.
Any of above ideas. High visible bigger square, dot, tick.. or thin frame.. or different background for tagged files.
Current tag indicator is very very small, very poorly visible on big preview and on thumbnails too. Monitors are bigger, resolutions are higher.. and current checkmark stuck a years ago.. and is less and less visible.

Apologies, you are of course absolutely right.
I was getting confused with the large preview view where the stars and colours are in opposite corners.
