Importing Images protected on Canon R6

I shoot with a canon R6 and have the rate button set to protect images. As I shoot a volleyball match I hit the rate button to protect the pics I may want to submit to the local paper. I would like for those protected images to import off my card into photo mechanic. When I do the actual import all images on the card are importing not just the protected ones. Can anyone steer me in the correct direction, I must be doing something wrong. Thank you for your time.

I'm assuming you are already using Photo Mechanic's Ingest. On the Ingest window, there are two dropdowns under "Filter Files". One of those dropdowns likely says "Copy Locked and Unlocked Photos". Change that to "Copy Locked Photos" and it should now only Ingest the locked files on the card.
