Hello everyone,

Photo Mechanic version 4.5.1 Beta 2 is now available for Mac OS X and Windows.

Download the Mac OS X version here.
Download the Windows version here.

Here are the release notes:

Version 4.5.1
* Added "Classic" IPTC dialogs as an option to the new IPTC dialogs (under the IPTC/XMP Preferences pane).
* (Win) All new Navigator with improved stability and speed.
* (Mac) Structured Keywords panel now has the ability to accumulate keywords before applying them.
* Fixed problems with locating system ICC profiles causing an alternate AdobeRGB ICC profile to be used that is incompatible with Windows color management.
* Fixed a problem with RAW captioning when embedding a Photographer/Byline or Caption field that was less than 4 characters.
* Added code to handle corrupted Canon 1D and 1DS RAW TIFF files so that they can be repaired with the Revert TIFF-based RAW to original command.
* Added new variable substring capabilities.  For example, {filenamebase:4} skips the first 4 characters and returns rest of the base filename, and {filenamebase:-4} returns the last four characters of the base filename (i.e. a shorthand for {filenamebase:-4,4}).  Also, {filenamebase:-8,-4} extracts the characters starting 8 characters from the end and ending 4 characters from the end of the base filename.
* Added new variables for pixel resolution to force inches/cms: {resolutioninches}/{rsin}, {resolutioncms}/{rscm}, {printsizeinches}/{psin}, {printsizecms}/{pscm}.
* Added more keyboard shortcuts for setting Color Class and Rating from within the Preview window using the modifier keys (essentially the same as the Image menu).
* Ingest snapshots now maintain the IPTC Stationery Pad when the Apply IPTC Stationery Pad checkbox is checked.
* Incremental Ingest now increases sequence number by the amount of photos actually copied.
* (Win) Ingest now preserves file attributes from the source disk when copying non-image files.
* (Win) Incremental ingest settings now loaded and saved properly on Unicode paths.
* Added new capabilities to the PM Classic HTML exporter (added "All" link), and when there is only one index page the navigation links are omitted.  Also fixed index links from full-size pages to link back to the index page they came from instead of the main index page.
* For export to SimpleViewer, the grid rows/columns can now be zero to eliminate the grid altogether.
* Added dialog that explains why opening recursive folders won't open when one or more of the folders in the recursive scan are already open in other contact sheets.
* (Win) Fixed email (MAPI) problems that would cause Send Photos via Email to fail with Outlook clients.
* (Win) Fixed certain problems with Burn Photos to Disc related to Unicode conversion.
* (Win) Fixed certain problems copying and renaming photos with Unicode paths.
* (Mac) Fixed crashing problem when opening or closing contact sheet windows.
* (Mac) Added warning dialog when deleting folders located on server volumes because they are deleted immediately instead of being moved to the recoverable trash.
* (Mac) Fixed a problem where the Preview window's panes would get permanently collapsed and could not be made visible again with Restore.
* (Mac) Fixed non-operational custom sort menu item when two or more custom sorts have the same name.
* (Mac) Showing and hiding the Info ToolTips is now immediate (you don't have to wiggle the mouse anymore).
* (Mac) JobMinder users with small screens no longer experience crashes when opening the IPTC Stationery Pad.

If you're running 4.5.0 on Windows, please uninstall 4.5.0 before installing 4.5.1 beta 2.  Mac users can keep the original 4.5.0 release on their systems (there is no installer/uninstaller for Photo Mechanic on Mac OS X), but we recommend using the 4.5.1 beta 2 version since it is far more stable. We anticipate a short beta period with this version, followed by the final 4.5.1 release.
