Stupid question
« on: April 14, 2023, 12:49:53 PM »
I've looked in the knowledge base and can not find the answer. Perhaps I've over looked it. But how do you determine what external drive a photo is on when searching the catalog? I'm currently cataloging 22 external drives. When I do a search the photos come up lighting fast, but as far as I can tell photo mechanic plus doesn't tell me what drive the original files is stored on.

Here are three ways to find what drive an image in a catalog is on

  • Select the image in a Contact Sheet. The full path to the image is shown in the status bar at the bottom of the window
  • If the drive is attached, you can right-click a thumbnail in the Contact Sheet and choose “Reveal in Finder”
  • (My personal favorite) Add the {path} variable to the Info Text under Edit > Settings > Set Info Text so that the path is shown in the Preview Window for all your images
