Is there a way to ignore camera exif on import?

I'm using a digital camera to scan in negative film.

Is there a way to ignore camera settings and lens info as it is irrelevant?
When I'm exporting end of the day with PS or Lightroom or even PM - I'm getting lens and camera serial info in the metadata which I don't want.

There is a "Delete Metadata" option under the Tools menu that might help.
