It kind of depends on what you mean by "on iCloud Drive". I can open a folder that is synced with iCloud Drive and all of the images that are local to my device are displayed on the contact sheet. The files need to be local though, if they're not, Photo Mechanic won't download them, you'll have to click the cloud button in Finder for it to do that, and then refresh the Contact Sheet.
