PM build 6880 incorrectly applying sequence number
« on: October 20, 2023, 06:15:12 AM »
Hello,
New in this forum after using PM for many years without any problem.
Now using PM build 6880 and having problems with the sequence number.
The announcement tells my this problem is fixed in build 6880 (• Fixed: Ingest From Folder incorrectly applying sequence number, resulting in incorrect sort order.) In real the problem is still there. Number starts with 08..., of 8....
Deleted this version and downloaded a new one but the problem is the same. Switched back to an older version (6496)
Anyone having the same problems??

Lex

Not quite understand the issue you are describing. What are you expecting to get compared to what you are getting?

We are not able to reproduce the problem locally on the latest build. It would be great if you could give our support line a call so we can troubleshoot with you directly and see what we can do to reproduce the problem in the latest build so we can look into a fix? I'm not really sure what "Number starts with 08..., of 8...." means, but hopefully we can understand better once you discuss the issue with someone on our team.

You can reach by phone at +1-503-547-2888

Hi,
What happened. By importing I want to rename my images to 20231019LLT_001.jpg

PM changed my image number to 20231019_801.jpg or 20231019LLT_0801.jpg. Always with an 8 in the series. Seq was pre-reset to 001 or 0001 before starting the new import!

The problem is now solved. I downloaded PM again but now on an iMac. I installed this version on my MBP after I deleted all old versions and restarted the computer.

Happy again with PM.  :)

I am also having the problem where the wrong sequence number is applied. See screen shot. Numbering should have begun at 0001 and instead started at 1590. (Screen shot is after PM downloaded 86 pictures).

Photo Mechanic Version 6.0, build 6880 (6fb7605). Mac OS Ventura 13.5.1.

Same suggestion I gave to LLT, please contact us directly so we can figure out how to reproduce this issue.

FYI, I reverted to the last version (Photo Mechanic Version 6.0, build 6784 (409cf99)) and the problem went away. If it recurs after the next update I'll try contacting directly.

Hey folks, we've got a new build that should resolve the issues with the sequence variable.

We would appreciate any time you could spend seeing if you are able to reproduce the issue in this build:

Photo Mechanic Plus, build 6890
macOS:
https://www.camerabits.com/download/PhotoMechanicPlusR6890_ffcbb4c5.dmg
Windows:
https://www.camerabits.com/download/PMPlusSetupR6890_ffcbb4c5.msi
Photo Mechanic 6, build 6890
macOS:
https://www.camerabits.com/download/PhotoMechanic6R6890_ffcbb4c5.dmg
Windows:
https://www.camerabits.com/download/PM6SetupR6890_ffcbb4c5.msi

If the issue does persist with this build, please let us know so that we can set up a time for you to show us how to reproduce the problem, as this will help us look for any variations in your workflow that we aren't accounting for in testing. But we are hopeful that this new build will resolve the issue for you. Thanks in advance for any time you can spend on this, and we apologize for any inconvenience the bug caused.
