I thought I've seen maybe not all, but enough of the internet by now, but boy was I wrong!

If someone had told me that there is a forum out there which requires you to create an account simply to READ support posts, I would've dismissed it as crazy talk, why would anyone want to make support for their own product less accessible? The quicker people find a solution to their issue, the better!

But wait, there's more!

Not only is an account required, but then it has to be manually approved in order to, and I feel I cannot stress this enough, READ support posts; not to create a new topic, not to comment in a thread, none of that sane and standard process every other forum uses, no, simply to access support information...

And given the amount of results I found while searching for "Photo Mechanic gathering sort info takes too long" I'm not holding my breath for a solution...

We had to stop guest browsing because our forums were being hit with thousands of bots (probably AI training) and denying access to real users.  We're looking for other solutions to this problem but it may take a while to find something that will work.

This was going to be my guess before I even got to Kirk's reply. I've seen the same thing on other sites where the bot traffic far exceeds the legitimate traffic and either crushes the site or requires spending more money for no real gain.
