Support for Canon CR3 "pre-continuous" photo rolls
« on: July 29, 2024, 01:10:49 PM »
In recent Canon offerings, specifically the R7 and R3 -- and the soon to be released R5 Mark II -- Canon offers the ability to buffer up to 1/2 second of images BEFORE the shutter button is fully depressed.  When the shutter if eventually pressed, the camera takes the last 1/2 second of stored images (approximately 15-20 images) and puts them in a single CR3 file.  When reviewing images in Photo Mechanic, only the first of the "combined" images in this file appears.  The only way to view, extract or delete the individual images is either in-camera or with Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4 software.

REQUEST:  Make it possible to view all the images in these combined CR3 files.  It would be even better to be able to extract individual images or delete them (within the CR3 file), but even having ONLY the ability to view all the images would be a great start and very helpful.

Thank you.

Do you have a sample file you could share that has more than one frame in the CR3 file?
