Lightroom 6 does the same.
I am not sure whether this is a good idea. I guess it is the compromise you have to do if you want to have space and image counting correct. I shoot RAW&Jpeg in most cases at the same time. Still I want to keep both, so that I am also able to see the images without any software in Windows.
But on the other hand this takes a lot of space over the years. So I might have to decide between the two formats and choose probably to save only RAW images and delete all Jpegs from the HD. Also the old ones.
At the end of the day, you only edit either the RAW image or the Jpegs, but not both. So why keeping then both?
