Catalog Reintegration Stucked
« on: October 06, 2024, 04:32:52 PM »
I just created a new catalog, and as soon as it finished importing Maintenance: Reintegrate Needed warning showed up.

I started it and it stucks at 50%. The same thing happened to another catalog, which is stucked at 22%.

Is it possible that the hard drive is defective?

What can I do to solve this?

Thanks,

Regards,

Paulo

I'd like to see your Photo Mechanic log.  In Photo Mechanic go to the Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data..." and moments later a Finder window will come forward with the zipped log file selected.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped PM log file.

Thanks,

Have your catalogs been moved to another drive?  I'm seeing a number of errors where the Catalog system is trying to open them at their last known path but they're not at that location anymore.  Those errors were being logged on September 9-30, and October 2-3.  (CATALOGOS was the name of the drive).

Then starting on October 6, 'database disk image is malformed' errors started occurring.  It looks like it was the PM_2024 catalog.  Later PM_ESCOLAS appears to be affected by the same problem.  There are millions of these errors occurring in your log.

Can you tell me what kinds of things you did with your catalog folders on or before September 9th?  What happened to the CATLOGOS drive?  Did it go offline for some period of time?

Not moved, but I did switch systems, from windows to Mac.
CATALOGOS is the name of the DRIVE.
It first happened with PM_2024 catalog, and I tried to reintegrate it more than once... I even tried to delete and rebuild the catalog from scratch.
PM_ESCOLAS catalog I haven't touched it in a long time, and today tried to ingest again.

Any suggestions? I do not mind starting it from scratch .

Thanks a lot for you time.

Did you bring the drives over from a Windows PC to your Mac?  If so, what format are the drives?  (ExFAT, FAT32, NTFS?)

This drive in particular is a Samsung T7 portable drive, ExFat. But PM_2024 catalog was built from within that Mac ecosystem, all other catalogs on this drive were built on a windows machine.

If you're really going to live on macOS, I recommend using non-Windows disk formats.  Apple does their best to work with them, but in my opinion you're taking your chances using a non-Apple native file system.
