Tagged pics are untagged after editing in Photoshop

Hello. When I tag a pic on the Photo Mechanic browser then edit it in Photoshop, the tag disappears after I have edited it and saved it as a new file. I'm running Photo Mechanic 2025.1, and Photoshop Elements.
Any ideas what I need to do please.

Hard to say without more information.  What kind of image (JPEG, RAW, TIFF, PNG, etc.) is the image that you're tagging in PM?  What kind of image are you having Photoshop produce?

jpg to jpg. It worked fine on my old Mac and Photo Mechanic Version 5

Please provide a sample JPEG that when tagged in PM and re-saved in Photoshop Elements is no longer tagged.  This will enable me to investigate the problem and provide you a solution.

Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG file.

Hi Paul,

I installed Photoshop Elements 2025 on my Sequoia Mac and tested your workflow. The jpegs Saved from Elements did not have any Tag, Ratings or Color labels. It seems the latest Elements does not save any of the Photo Mechanic tags in the XMP metadata section. The Rating is an xmp tag but Elements only saves the Capture, Modification and Metadata dates with the xmp tag. I know the older versions of Elements used to save these metadata tags but I'm not sure when Adobe dropped the support.

** Update **
After I installed the Camera Raw plugin for Elements, all of Photo Mechanic's metadata, including the Tag, Star rating and Color label, are imported and saved in a new jpeg. I hope this helps.
