Wiping Out Metadata/Image Page?

Friends--I run PM build 6784 oever happened before:n MacBook pro; am somewhat computer-challenged.

New problem, never happened previously:

I often have similar shoots. Previously, with a new shoot, I could open up an "image" (the filled-in metadata page), rename it, and apply it, with changes, to the new shoot. Saved lots of time.

Suddenly (~2 weeks ago) when I open up a previous image (that is, a metadata set) with all the previous metadata within it, it suddenly goes blank, and all that is left is the template. I have to fill in everything anew.

Grateful for any suggestions.
