License belongs to someone else!?
« on: April 20, 2025, 06:01:15 AM »
I upgraded to the latest version of PM6 in March (26 March) and activated my Macbook Pro.

I've just opened PM6 and just trying to make sure the 'Browse with PM6' service launched the correct build (I still have the old Intel version in the applications folder, just in case) so clicked on the 'About Photomechanic' in the menu..  to see this..

I have no idea who this is, or why my Macbook has been assigned his license (which also expires months before my own)... but seems like theres an issue with activation here..

Pablo is our director of engineering: https://home.camerabits.com/about-us/.  If we manually created you a license for support reasons it might have his name on it. Did we send you a license key for testing/troubleshooting reasons at some point?

You should email support@camerabits.com for any questions related to licensing

No.. haven't had any support for over a year..  this was literally an upgrade from the previous legacy/perpetual license version (Intel) to the annual subscription universal binary version..  Had the license come through via email and activated it..  never thought anything of it.. pretty sure at the time it didn't say it was registered to Pablo or I'd have noticed it..  I'm sure it said licensed to Jason Sheldon so there's a chance something has happened since (perhaps related to Sequoia updates)

Or it may be something to do with being unable to reach the activation server to check the license? I was travelleing on a train a couple of weeks ago and tried to use my Macbook with limited internet signal and had a license issue pop up - can't remember if it was with PhotoMechanic or Lightroom Classic now - it would have been one or the other..  but no, for the life of me, I can't imagine how/why the license would be in Pablo's name.
