Hi, am I correct in my understanding..
I currently use PM6, but I'm thinking for this one task I might need to upgrade to PM6 Plus, as I don't think PM6 will cope with my library of 600,000 files in one pane...
I need to update (and standardise) my metadata format.. it's changed over the years since I first started, and now with all the additional IPTC fields including Copyright and Licensing field support by Google, I embed a search string into my Copyright URL field which will take users to my website with the search field containing the frame number and job etc - so it should show the particular image. I only started doing this in the last 18 months or so, so I'd like to go back and do this with my earlier images..
I used Lightroom Classic for my library, and it doesn't allow me to manipulate the image metadata like PM6 does, and for some reason - even simple metadata fields like the Frame number isn't supported in Lrc....
So..
If I were to make sure all images have current LRc metadata saved to them, then create a catalog with PM6 Plus (Presuming that reads in existing metadata into the catalog).. is it then possible to apply a metadata template to certain fields, save the metadata from within PM6+ then read the metadata from the images back into the LRc catalog - without destroying edits?
Just trying to figure out the best, and cheapest way to tidy up my metadata without losing anything!
Thanks in advance,
J.
