Just saw the update on my system. Are we safe to update?

The only issue we've found is that inline renaming on the Contact Sheet doesn't have an opaque background, so you can see the current filename as you type a new one. There may be other issues that we haven't found yet.

Max,

We strongly suggest never upgrading to any macOS release until it has had at least a few updates.

In all fairness, Tahoe was launched in June and had 9 beta versions until the releasing of the public version. So it is hardly a 'new' software.

If it is like any of the other major macOS releases, macOS Tahoe is very likely full of bugs of various severity.  Time will tell.

In the past some of the bugs cause major performance issues when reading files off of a camera card, and even data loss.  You're welcome to take your chances. I can only advise.

Apple moved to making the OS free, so that there would be no disincentive to upgrading, so that developers had less of a burden to maintain compatibility with old versions.

The fact that camerabits is not using our subscriptions to check compatibility with the new OS during the beta testing period that Apple provides for that purpose, but instead sows FUD about unspecified bugs in new OS’ is not very encouraging.

I am running a 2020 iMac with 64GB memory and 24 TB of external hard drives. I made the mistake of upgrading to Tahoe 26.0 last week. I am running PM+ build 8068--latest version available. I find the following:
1. all of the PM functions I use seem to work fine
2. the font size of the PM+ controls are so small that I need a magnifying glass to read them. I can find no way to increase their size.
3. when I add IPTC data to my images, it seems to store OK--no error messages.
4. When I switch to search mode, none of the search functions work. I can do nothing to search my database.

Has anyone else had similar experience, or am I just confused?

Since you're running Photo Mechanic.2025 (with a Plus license) and you're running macOS Tahoe, you should switch to the Universal Binary version.  It does not have the problem you're having with the UI scaling.
