image not rendering on Canon R3

Evening,
I've seen a few posts regarding images not rendering, but these appeared to be on other cameras, so apologies if this has already been answered.

Photo mechanic plus, build 8588 on Windows 11 Pro 24H2

I've got a pair of Canon R3's.  On one of them, PM gives a 'unable to render image' on .CR3 raw files, but I haven't been able to find images from the other R3 with the same issue.

Any suggestions gatefully received.

It's likely due to the CR3 with the rendering issue is set to shoot CR3s with "HDR shooting HDR PQ" turned on.  Turn this setting off.  I think if you compare this setting on your other camera, you'll see that it is off.

  I don't think it's that.  I have other shoots with the same body where the images have rendered perfectly normally.  Are there any other settings which might impact?

I know of no other settings that would make a difference.  Please share one of the images that is having this issue.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your file.

Thanks for the sample image.  It does not contain a JPEG preview.  That's why it is unable to render.  I suspect it is because of the setting I mentioned earlier.
