Code replacements suddenly not working..

I am running Photo Mechanic version 6.0, build 7285 (fb3e520) on MacBook Pro 2021 OS Tahoe 26.3.
Code replacements worked perfectly as normal five days ago for me.
Now when I tried a test run for a soccer game tomorrow, I type the code replacement and nothing happens at all.
I have attached a jpeg showing my code replacement caption plus my code replacement folder..

We tried your code replacement file and it worked for us. Perhaps you are using the incorrect delimiter character or inadvertently changed it?

Well thanks for trying.

I shut everything down and restarted my MacBook, re-launched Photo Mechanic, and tried again.

Same as before - absolutely nothing. Every time I re-write `r9` - nothing but that appears.

I even tried changing the de-limiter to = but no luck again. (=r9= still gives me nothing)

Looks like I'm going to have a long day tomorrow just copying and pasting player names...

Really weird and as far as I know, nothing whatever has changed, although I have had a OS Tahoe upgrade from Tahoe 26.2 to Tahoe 26.3 this week...

If you can think of anything please let me know. I'm beginning to think I'll never find out what's happened!

Wow have I got problems with Photo Mechanic!

As I suspected code replacements provided nothing whatever apart from my chosen player such as `r12`appearing on my caption.
I could then only copy and paste the name/s from one of my code replacement files.

BUT - I could not even get any ingests to work at all.
When I viewed Ingest Tasks the message read "Finished copying from volume "/Volumes/EOS_DIGITAL/".
Volume "Volumes/EOS_DIGITAL/" has been unmounted and is safe to eject."
Yet not one file had been ingested.
I then had to remount the disk and manually copy my file folder over to my MacBook for processing.

The day after my game, I copied all my files to my older MacBook Air running Mac OS High Sierra where I was able to use code replacesments and properly caption all my images.

Is there any way I can simply copy my Photo Mechanic setting and preferences from My older MacBook Air?

Sorry I should have added that when my disk was mounted on the desktop, nothing happened and I had to go to the Window column and choose "Ingest Tasks" to supposedly start the ingest.

I had been recreating the above today to explain what happened in an articulate way.

- and all of a sudden the Ingest Tasks menu appeared once the disk had mounted and all files successfully ingested to my chosen folder!!
Must be something weird going on with my MacBook Pro.
Code replacements still not working though..

To wrap this up: this problem was due to an issue with the delimiter character and the MacOS "Smart Quotes" feature altering the character that as being typed.

I must give a massive thank-you to AHoward at the Photo Mechanic Support line.

After some run-throughs to navigate my problems, he identified my problem as he says in his last post.
He sorted things for me by getting me to share my screen via TeamViewer to go to my System Settings, and choosing the Keyboard settings, then choosing to Edit the Text Input's "Edit" setting and from there disabling the smart Quotes and Dashes options. Once he had taken me through that - hey presto and all was fixed and my code replacements work perfectly!
