FTP - Saved as JPEG - Creation Time bug
« on: May 09, 2026, 07:21:10 PM »
Hey Kirk,

I discovered a bug with using the "Saved as JPEG" option when FTP'ing photos to the AP.

This started with Photo Mechanic 2026.1, build 9024. It does not happen with Photo Mechanic 2025.10, build 8858.

When this option is used, the creation time of the photos is changed to midnight when they arrive on the AP server.

If the original photo is sent, everything is fine. If an older version of PM is used, everything is fine. (This is easily reproducible and I tested with an AP editor.)

I always use the "Save a copy of transmitted photos" and interestingly the saved copy looks good as well.

Code: [Select]
stat /Users/kevin/Pictures/SENT/Transmitted-AP-1-NewYork/TXKC112.jpg

Please see attachments and let me know if you have any questions or if there is any more information I can provide.

Thanks,
Kevin

Have you tried the new beta one?

There should be a fix there. In the previous version it took the current day as date even when choosing something else...

I see that now, thanks!

Fixed: Incorrect date and time metadata added during FTP upload of files Saved As JPEG in transmit settings.
