Live Ingest from FTP as Source
« on: February 16, 2022, 08:37:07 AM »
I would like to be able to Live Ingest from an FTP server.
It would work the same as from a folder, perhaps with an option to delete after ingesting, or an incremental style option to only get un-ingested images.

Right now I FTP my images from Camera, then run a third-party app to download them for PM in Live Ingest, I would like to streamline that process.

While this would be great to have, the ftp protocol does not have any functionality to notify/send push notifications when a new file arrives. This means that to implement your feature, the ftp client would have to pull the server regularly to check for new files. Depending on the network and how quickly a new file should be recognised, implementing such a feature would introduce significant network overhead.
