Revisit JPEG XL Support

I saw that there was a request for JXL support made a few years back , around the time that Chrome dropped support for JXL. 
I would like to suggest a revisit of support for JXL in Photomechanic.
 Adobe read/writes it from Lightroom and Photoshop, Apple is using it as a "raw" format ( wrapped in a DNG) , and seems to be available in more MAC ecosystem apps as well as open source ( no native windows support thought).

I would like to see this as well.  It's royalty free to boot.

Looks like support is coming back to Chrome/Chromium, and Safari already supports it.   Lots of browsers are Chromium based, so it is becoming more mainstream.

MacOS already supports it.

Those of us paying subscription have higher expectations of feature delivery, good or bad.

Please add my name to the Jpeg XL request list. Photoshop, Lightroom, Affinity Photo, Photo (formerly iPhoto), and Safari already supports it. Files are about half the size and are better quality. It would work very well in my workflow. Photo Mechanic is holding me back.

With the possible loss of the "Plus" capability, I started looking around for other options.   Seems like many of the other culling or DAM options, at least for a Mac support JXL.   I'm using it as my processed file archival format.   So now there is always a lot of proxy thumbnails in my folders as I view them in Photo Mechanic.

Like it or not, now with the heavy subscription cost, I feel more like I'm "owed" the features I want.   Storage is getting more costly with the squeeze AI is putting on memory and disk prices.   The space saved with lossless JXL is substantial compared to other formats.  There are always pros and cons with choices, but the scale is slowly tipping away from Photo Mechanic.

Sorry to be harsh.   Just trying to be honest in my feedback.

The build of Photo Mechanic released today contains support for viewing JPEG-XL (and AVIF) images.
