batch rename has vanished!

I am currently trying out the software and am really enjoying it!
however...
today I went to take care of some files and could not for the life of me
find the batch rename!
wha happened?  Any ideas?  I'm still in shock.

It is on the File menu.  If you have no menu bar, then quit PM and launch it again, but hold down the Shift key while it launches.  This will reset the menu bar and the layout of various panels.

Two remarks:

• The batch rename is also "hidden" when you have no files selected.
• You can also get the rename funtion when pressing control-M

Well, it isn't hidden in this case, it is just disabled because there are no items selected.  So it should be visible, but just "ghosted"/gray in appearance.

Kirk, true of course, I should have been more clear about this.  I was thinking maybe the original poster meant "disabled" or "greyed/out" instead of "hidden".
