IPTC. Corrected text not visible when opening PM again

Caption and Keyword fields

Sometimes when I make corrections in the Caption and/or Keyword fields, PM does save these corrections but
does not show them, but instead the old text appears. I work on iMac for IPTC fields but do also have a Powerbook and MacPro.
The very funny thing is that the new corrections (made on the iMac) are seen on the Powerbook, but NOT on the MacPro.
BUT the changes are seen on the MacPro in the FotoStation programme, which we also use.
We have emptied the cache, but without result.

Does somebody has a clue?

I suggest you look at the Preferences, IPTC/XMP tab. Things to note there are For multiple records, update 1st/last; and the whole order or reading IPTC (box "While reading IPTC/XMP:"). There might be a difference in how you have PM set up across your box and laptop.

Yes the problem has been solved. I had to change the iptc in the preferences.

Glad it helped IMHO it is a bit of problem with several IPTC standards superseding each other - some programs support one, some only the latter, some inconsistently (ie Adobe), and so on. It's a great thing PM supports all, from the classic IPTC, Adobe's sidecar files, embedded IPTC/XMP... one just has to make sure to set it up properly for your particular workflow.

Kirk, please, it would be nice if the screenshots you periodically post on the forum as "recommended settings" for ie Adobe Camera Raw workflow / Nikon Capture workflow / ... could make it into the 4.5 manual-in-the-making ?
