Nikon sRBG 4.0.0.3001 versus sRGB IEC61966-2.1
« on: October 04, 2007, 08:45:22 AM »
In my PM preferences (4.5.2 Windows) I have set Nikon sRBG 4.0.0.3001 as default ICC profile.
In Capture NX I use the same setting.

When I save in NX a .NEF picture to JPEG and say ‘embed ICC profile’ PM will show 'Nikon sRBG 4.0.0.3001 (embedded)' in the info of this picture – ok so.
When I save in NX a .NEF picture to JPEG and DO NOT say ‘embed ICC profile’ PM will show 'sRGB IEC61966-2.1' – why ??

That's because NX has updated the EXIF Color space tag with the sRGB identifier which is generic.  We then use the sRGB profile found on your system.  Because that version of sRGB is not Nikon's then you won't see the same name.
