Preserving NEF crops with 4.5.3

Using Windows 4.5.3 I have applied crops to NEF files, is there any way to generate jpeg files that preserve the crop using Save as, FTP as, or Extract?

No, there is no way to do that currently.

So it appears that the only value of cropping a NEF is that a slide show will display cropped views 

I hope this is something you address in 4.5.4.

We don't plan to have a 4.5.4 release unless a major bug is found.

Photo Mechanic is not (in general) a RAW rendering application.  I plan to make it possible to Save As from RAW files using the embedded previews in version 4.6 and this would include applying crops.
