No.  Web-based email is not supported.

You can use a mail client to send via GMail with POP or IMAP.  I use Gmail with Apple Mail and it works fine.

Apple's Mail application only runs on Mac OS X.  You should be able to use Outlook Express and set it up similarly to use GMail servers.  Then emailing from Photo Mechanic should work fine for you.

Exactly.  IIRC they have walk-through instructions  for a number of different email clients.

Mozilla's Thunderbird email app will work with GMail as Pop3 or IMAP.  It is available free for Linux and Windows.  Not sure about Apple.
