iptc stationary pad button
« on: December 09, 2008, 08:42:54 AM »
:) Hi, first of all: great job, very nice piece of software!!

my name is angelo  I'm  posting from italy, i bought your software a couple of months ago and i have tried it  since then.

my first impression is positive and i think i'm going to keep using it, nonetheless, there is a very  big weak point (in my opinion..)
whenever i want to open the stationary pad  i have to stop looking  at the monitor  to  push  CTRL - I  or go  to image  menu and  find the stationary pad command.
i find i would need an icon on the bar to open up  the pad .Or else  if  it was possible  to personalize  the shortcut  so that i could change it  to   just "ctrl"  key for example or something  easy to find on the keyboard  without looking at it.

thanks a lot
angelo

There is a button with an 'i' on it that appears over the thumbnail of each image when you have your mouse over the image.  Click on it to bring up the IPTC Info window.  It is much faster than having a toolbar button.  The IPTC Stationery Pad dialog is used far less often and does require either typing Ctrl-I or by using the menus.

HTH,

i believe you said is far less used , but i  use the pad  on all the pics and the i  button only on some of them.
the i button is very useful , ... after i applied the stationary pad  on several pics
they don't do  the  same function .

my problem  is exactly what you said : to have the stationary pad open

require either typing Ctrl-I or by using the menus.
which  is  (in my opinion) not straightforward
when i dowload the picture i mark them with different color depending on the  different  works i did that day, i select  al the picture of each color and i open the pad  which, in my case
incorporate a general template which is modified on every group of  foto . so i'm  using  a the  pad on  every color   group of photo
if you don't want to put more button it would be possible to personalize shortcuts; ctrl-I is a difficult couple of keys to strike at the  same time

thanks
