Flickr Upload
« on: April 30, 2009, 09:07:06 AM »
Last night I did a black and white conversion of a raw NEF and then attempted to upload the raw file to Flickr. The resulting image at Flickr reverted to the color image. It wasn't until I saved the b&w conversion as a JPEG and then uploaded to Flickr that the image remained in b&w. If I understood the upload dialog correctly, raw files would be converted to jpeg during the upload process. Did I do something wrong or is an issue I should be reporting? Thanks for your guidance!

Hi Greg,

If you're running Mac OS 10.4+, then Photo Mechanic had used the RAW data as the source for the JPEG file. You will need to disable Photo Mechanic's RAW Rendering so that the embedded JPEG preview will be used instead. This setting is found in Photo Mechanic's Preferences under the RAW tab. Simply uncheck the box to "Enable RAW Rendering (using Apple's ImageIO)" and the B&W preview will now be the source.

Regards,
Jerry
