Probably really basic stuff but it's got me beat.
Shooting NEF on a D3, using PM on a MACpro to ingest @ 300dpi, converting to Tiff for manipulation and storage, then saving as Jpeg for submission.
My question is about resulting file sizes.
Original RAW starts off at about 12MB roughly 4000 pixels wide.
Generating a TIFF of 40-50MB - the same 4000 pixels wide.
Save that as a JPEG at the highest quality settings in CS2 and I end up with a file of around 4-5MB...... 4000 wide.
I'm being asked to provide files of a minimum 16.5MB in Jpeg - but just can't see how that's possible. At minimum compression Photoshop still disposes of 90% of the data.
How can I possibly produce a Jpeg at 16.5MB from these files without just increasing the width in pixels, which is pointless as far as I can see.
This has brought me to a stop. Very much appreciate any help.
