Really basic question about moving files, please help!
« on: August 26, 2009, 04:16:57 AM »
Hello
I am embarrassed to ask such a simple question, but I have spent about an hour trying to work it out to no avail. I have tagged the RAW images I want in photomechanic, and now I simply want to move them to a new folder. I don't want to convert them to Jpeg or anything. How do I do this? I have tried dragging and dropping, but that doesn't work,I have tried saving, but it wants to do something to the images. I know this is about as basic as you get, but I can't seem to find it in the FAQs.
Anyway, please put me out of my misery, and feel free to say, 'dur' and other appropriate messages.

Use the Copy Photos command on the File menu.  Set the 'Move photos (delete originals)' checkbox.  Setup your destination and then click the Copy button.

That should do it.

Drag and drop should work as well to copy or move just the way your operating system works with dragging/dropping files.

However the Copy option is the more precise method with all the copy/move related options.
Working on Mac, OSX, iOS and with some Canons.
Allways shooting RAW.
