Display captions in preview window?
« on: August 08, 2006, 12:56:15 AM »
Hi,

I am new to photo mechanic and after playing around with the app, and reading the manual I can't seem to work out how to view image captions any other way then to bring up the full IPTC info window. I would really like to be able to some of the key IPTC data in the image preview page, is there a way to do this with the current version?

Cheers,
Max

Yes.  Use the Set Info Text... command on the Edit menu while you are in the Contact Sheet.  You should add something like this:

Caption: {caption}

Put the new text wherever you would like to see it.

OK the dialog and then go back into the Preview.  You should now see your captions.  Use the -/+ signs in the Preview window to make the Info pane shorter or taller.

HTH,

-Kirk

Ah excellent, thanks for the quick reply.

PS: Would be nice to be able to double click on that window to open the edit IPTC info window  :P

Why use the mouse?  Just type 'i'...

Kirk - Thanks I didn't know ablut this - BUT - when I add {Caption} & {ACT} they show up below the the Crop window and I need to scrol to see them even though there is plenty of space and or I minimize all the lower windows. Any way to let the info field NOT have a scroll bar (max out)?
Thanks
