Proofs printing only thumbnails

I'm running 4.6.3 on an Intel Mac running 10.5.8.  When printing proofs of individual photos from a contact sheet, the proofs print only a small thumbnail of the image.   I've seen other post in the past of folks having this problem, but no resolution.

What file type are the images you're trying to print?

Sorry for the long delay in responding.  I'm trying to print from folders of jpgs.

What is the width and height of the images in pixels?  Can you view them at high resolution in the Preview window?
