Canon SD 1400 Elph
« on: July 11, 2010, 11:42:43 AM »
My wife just got a small point and shoot, Canon SD 1400 Elph.

Since my card reader doesn't have a slot for the tiny card used in the Elph I've just plugged the camera directly to the computer, but I can't get PM (Ver. 4.4.3.3 ) to recognize the the camera.  Tried it on the Mac and the PC but no luck with either any advice?

You need to get a card reader (USB or FireWire) and then it should work fine with Photo Mechanic.

That's what I suspected.

Will get the card reader and try again.

Thanks Kirk

Another solution would be to use image capture (mac) to copy all the image files off your camera to a a directory on your harddrive and then run pm on that directory. This is actually what I currently do with the files on an sd card which my card reader does not recognise. Works like a charm :)
