Color Class & German Umlaute
« on: September 04, 2010, 10:39:44 AM »
Hi there,

I'm just setting up PM to co-operate with Lightroom. In LR I heavily use color labels, which have the following definition:

6 = Rot
7 = Gelb
8 = Grün
..and so on

When I adjust the labels in PM (Preferences > Color CLasses )and enter "Grün", PM saves "Grün". When I tag an image using this color label it will be shon correctly in LR, so it seems to an error related to the GUI and not to the functionality itself,

COuld you have a look at this?

Michael

Where do you see the garbled version of the colour name? In a PM dialogue or in another application?

In the latter case it seems that the other application is not interpreting utf-8 encoded characters correctly.

Yes, absolutely, but I need to know where in the application the text appears incorrectly.  Screen shots are always welcome.  You can upload JPEG screen shots by using the 'Additional Options...' link when you're composing your reply to this message.

Hi Kirk,

here's the screen shot.

I entered "Grün" for the green label and this value is saved correctly but as you can see the value is not displayed correctly in the GUI.

XMP file:
...
<xap:Label>Grün</xap:Label>
...

Regards
Michael

Thank you.  That should be easy enough to fix for the next update to version 4.6.

Please try the 4.6.6 beta version:

It should fix this problem.
